Batch Add AND Uploads not working
« on: October 09, 2007, 06:34:19 am »

Hi there,

I recently went to go add about 1000 screencaps to my gallery.  I hadn't added any photos for about two months, so I don't know if something happened in the gap between uploads or what.

Anyway, I go to batch add files, as I've always done.  I select ok on the directory location, and then it goes to load the thumbnails as always.  Unfortunately the thumbnails don't load at all.  I select the album anyway and click insert selected files.  For every one of the images, the result dialog says 'click for details or to reload'.  Upon clicking it tells me it is 'unable to create thumbnail or reduce image size'.

This also happens when I go to upload a singular file using the 'upload file' function.  After I browse and select the file, clicking continue,  it says the upload was successful and to click continue to place the file in the correct album.  I select the file, click continue, and it gives me a message, saying the file could not be placed, then says all the files have been successfully placed. And oxymoron no doubt.

Any idea what's going on?  Help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried that, and I'm getting this exact message:

The file 'albums/userpics/4ouiayw~1.jpg' can't be inserted in the album

Unable to create thumbnail or reduced size image[/b]

I looked in the asking for support section, and I found something similiar:

The file 'albums/userpics/10001/somepic.jpg' can't be inserted in the album. Error executing ImageMagick - Return value 127

The problem with that is that I don't use ImageMagick.

I've set up a test account as instructed.

Username - testaccount
Password - testing

Yes, original, I know lol

have a look in your config page and check the Method for resizing images setting (must be GD2 and not ImageMagik)

That seems to have done the trick, thanks!

Any idea how the settings got changed?  Because I didn't manually do that, I just haven't used any of the upload features in a month or two.
