banned from my own board

Have just installed cpg1.4.3 ok, and setup the settings and themes then logged out. When I tried to log back it it refused to accept my username and password so shut down the browser. Trying again I am notified that I am currently banned from using the board. Sorry, I have never heard of this before, on any of my sites.
