Can you replace images?

Hey, I know this sounds like a stupid question but I've got images in my gallery that are watermarked with an old URL and I need to update the picture with a new one. However, I would like to keep the amount of views the images have so is there a way to do this?

I've tried uploading new images to override the old ones in the same folder with the same name but it doesn't seem to work.
