Wrong characters

I've recently done the upgrade to latest Coppermine Gallery Version 1.4.12.
I have a problem with wrong characters in my gallery... Each character like è à ò ù ì is replaced with this symbol �.
With the older version I hadn't this problem.

How can I fix it???
