Batch add files prob!

When I try to batch add files the following mesage is desplayed

***Warning: the script can't write in this directory, you need to change its mode to 755 or 777 before trying to add the files ! ***

can anyone tell me how to make this change, :-\

Use your FTP client or webhosting control panel to change the permissions.

I changed the permissions to 755 and 777 and I`m still getting the same  :'(
