MPEG4 Support
« on: August 10, 2007, 05:22:08 pm »

Can the MPEG4 format be supported in the latest version of Coppermine? I do not see it listed as an allowed media type and was wondering if perhaps a Plug-in was needed. I did a search re MPEG4 but no relevant results were returned.

Thanks,

Are you actually having a problem uploading mpeg4 files to Coppermine? If so post more details.

Thanks Nibbler.

The MPEG4 files will upload fine. However, I receive the following error upon completion of the uplad:

"Only files with the following extensions are accepted :

jpg/jpeg/jpe/gif/png/bmp/jpc/jp2/jpx/jb2/swc/iff/asf/asx/mpg/mpeg/wmv/swf/avi/mov/mp3/midi/mid/wma/wav/ogg/psd/doc/txt/rtf/pdf/xls/pps/ppt/zip/gz/mdb."

Since I do not see it as an allowed media type in "Files and thumbnails advanced settings" I would expect that error. As such, I was wondering if a PlugIn was required.

And while not germane to this, I'll mention anyway that these are being uploaded via FTP and (attempting) to be added through the Batch interface.

Thanks for the quick response; typical of the support here!

What is the file extension of the file you are uploading? Add it to Coppermine using the filetypes plugin.

The file extension this MPEG-4 is  .MP4.

I'll try the PlugIn you suggested.

Many thanks again for your help.
