send this to a friend
« on: May 25, 2006, 11:59:28 pm »

can't say I have seen this on the forums for 1.4.X. I would like to have a text link saying "send this to a friend" on the bottom of every file displayed. Instead of an ecard sending the file, it would send a link to the file. This would include video and flash as well as pics. If there is already a mod out there for this, I do apologize. Thank you in advance for your reply.

I may be using the wrong search terms to find a corresponding forum thread on an existing plugin or mod for a "refer a friend" or "tell a friend" feature; I'm still searching the forums though.  As a temporary measure I built my own via a simple in page form and corresponding cgi script but I'm not sure I'm satisfied with it...I'll keep searching the forums for existing plugins/mods.  I'd like to see something integrated into CPG considering we can already use sendmail to dispatch e-cards.

This is not a support thread, so don't expect to find answers here. Coppermine already has the ecard feature that could simply be renamed to "send this to a friend". The dev team definitely won't add core features related to sending large files around by email. Spam is evil. Subsequently, creating apps that can be (ab)used to send unrequested emails around is evil as well.
Marking thread as "turned down".
