using coppermine with NO albums?
« on: June 27, 2007, 01:53:56 am »

Hello,

Is there a way to use Coppermine without having to select an album in which to upload photos?

I want to simplifiy to process for all the misc. users that log in.  I want it so that they don't have to select an album for each photo that is uploaded.  I want just ONE main dump for all photos by default.

Thanks,

Russ.

Also,

I want it to be without categories and without albums.  All photos should be uploaded to the root without any selection of category/album.  Maybe there is a mod or plugin' for this?

Russ.

Hi,

You must have one album.
There is no plugin or mod to do what you want

Frantz is right - file uploads need to go into albums. You could however modify the upload form to have one album pre-selected by default. You could even turn that form field into a hidden field so that it isn't shown. This would subsequently cause all uploads going into one album. However, as your gallery grows you'll notice that you will need to organize your uploaded files into albums (and even categories) to avoid your site visitors getting lost on your gallery site.
