PncPG 4.01, PN 7.6 Coppermine 1.4.8

All dynamic user data is active.. is there something else I can do to make single signons work?

What is the value for this setting:
"Unencrypted/DUD/Postnuke"?
With DUD it should be set to 2.

Coppermine 1.4.8
Upgrading to the most recent version (currently cpg1.4.10) is mandatory, although not related to your question.

What the heck is that setting? Is that a server thing or a script thing?

Do the username/pw need to be identical (i can understand that the usernames do...) in both versions?

Will existing usernames work or does it only work for new registrants who register while the system is in place and working

Regardless, when I go into pnCPG and check the box to persist Postnuke and Coppermine users, I save it, and go back to the same page and it is automatically unchecked, like something is not set right. Maybe its that setting that Cas wrote about, though I can't say, because I've never heard of it.

Thanks much!

that is a module thing and DUD stands for Dynamic User Data.
I tyhought had this described in the readme.
Using my pnSSI module, thew passwords of Coppermine will be the same as the ones from Postnuke.

Are you able to direct me to where i would find the Unencrypted/dud/postnuke setting? I don't run my own server, so that might complicate things. Would be more than happy to provide any additional info.. This is making me feel really stupid.

I got it to work.

For all future reference- the Readme contains some less obvious but manditory instructions:

1. Logon to postnuke as administrator

2. Go to the admin section, system tab

3. Go to the User section

4. Go to the Dynamic user data

5. Add the field "_CPGPWD", type "string", length 10

6. You must create a define for this variable in language/eng/global.php

-also in other languages you support => language/*???*/global.php

7. Activate the "Use Dynamic user data" option within the admin section.

Lovely.

Caroline,
I realise my instructions are not the best, perhaps a challenge for someone to improve them ?

Well i re-posted incompletely- what i meant to do was acknowledge the sticking point, for future readers-

only after following those 7 steps does the "Unencrypted/DUD/Postnuke" setting appear in pnCPG. So prior to completing them i was unable to find it at all.

What, might i ask, are the purposes of values 1 and 3? or even 2 as you stated that it needs to be set at to work?

Link is fine.

Thanks!

As is says on the screen, "Unencrypted/DUD/Postnuke (1/2/3):"
1 => Set Coppermine to use unencrypted passwords (old setting of the gallery)
2 => Dynamic User Data, meaning manula control
3 => Synched with Postnuke
