How do I create new groups? When I go to the group permissions page it doesn't give me the "create group" button as shown in the help file

it is bridged with phpbb 2.0.21 if that matters.

thanks in advance

When bridged you create the groups in the forum.

Then you probably didn't enable that feature. Rerun the bridge wizard and select the post based groups option.

Side note: after creating a group in your BBS, you have to visit Coppermine's groups page to trigger a sync between Coppermine and your BBS.

I'm posting in this thread as it relates exactly to what my problem is as well with not being able to create a group in the gallery and groups I create in the phpbb forum not showing up. If I do run the bridge wizard again, do I risk losing all uploaded photos so far? (I recall reading about if the bridge is disconnected it would reset the gallery and lose images and information. I can't afford to lose photos and information as there are over 6k of photos already.)

I would not recommend a course of action that would result in loss of uploaded files without making this obvious. Re-running the bridge is perfectly safe.
