Increase Security (Less Spam)???

Hi...

I have a quick question. I've been getting way too many spam messages. Everyday I have to delete and block a few of them and I'm getting pissed off. Is there any way of increasing security or, if not, disabling the posting system?  :-\

Such a shame..  :-[

Even better: search before posting! Searching this board for "comment spam" displays all relevant threads.
