Coppermine & vBulletin 3.6.5
« on: April 30, 2007, 04:04:24 pm »

Quote
Coppermine install: http://ghostdogs.net/Coppermine
Forum install: http://ghostdogs.net/forums
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.10
Forum version: vBulletin 3.6.5
Test user account: user/user

BridgeManager settings:
Forum URL:  http://ghostdogs.net/forums
Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../forums/

1.  After being directed vBulletin to login, I am not re-directed back to Coppermine [this is how it worked in phpBB].  From what I can find here in the forums this is not supported with vBulletin.  Is the correct?

2.  Seems once I get logged into Coppermine [from vBulletin] this is not remembered [saved] once I close the Browser.  I always have to hit vBulletin first before going to Coppermine.  Is there not a way for Coppermine to remember that I have logged in?  Perhaps this is some kind of a cookie issue or not supported with vBulletin.

3.  Logging out from Coppermine kind of works, when redirected to vBulletin a Error message is displayed on the logging out screent --- An error occurred while attempting to log you out. Click here to log out.   Is this also normal?

Other than the above all seems well but it does seem phpBB bridging was far better.  Oh, I did have an issue where Member photos/Personal Galleries did not match the users in vBulletin.  However I think this was caused by me upgrading from phpBB to vBulletin [and vBulletin changing users IDs for some reason].  Luckly there where under 3 members that no longer matched cause changing user IDs in the database and picture folder names was a real pain.

darn, I put my end quote in the wrong place and I can not seem to find out to edit my post [guess I am not allowed].   Can a Moderator move the end quote at the end of "Relative path to your BBS's config file:  ../forums/"

Probably; vb is proprietary so I can't do more than guess about the code.

The vb bridge only reads the session cookie, not the longer term 'remember me' cookie.

That a security measure in vb, not sure how to evade it.

Bridge files for Free software work better than those for non-Free software. This is to be expected.

I am allowed to setup a test vBulletin installed [which I really need to any ways].  So, if I allowed you full access to the test site would that help with the "vb is proprietary so I can't do more than guess about the code." issue?

No; it would still be proprietary software.

VB license is here - http://www.vbulletin.com/order/license_agreement.php

Clearly not open source.

How can this problems be solved? How can I make the session cookies take a longer time to expire?

You tell us. We won't look into vb issues, at it isn't open source software. The solution must come from the vb community or the vb developers. Ask this question on the vb boards if you need answers.
