The string SUCCESS was not found in the response body

[Edit GauGau] Replaced hotlinked image with attachment [/Edit]

After a brand new install of Coppermine 1.4.16 and the latest Jupload 3.0.0rc4, i still get the SUCCESS error when I try to use the plugin.
I've put PHP Safe mode to off, and I checked all the access rights twice, I even changed the ownership of the entire domain to the user running the apache process. Normal file-by-file upload works as well.
Here's an outpot from the debug log, with Opera and Firefox browsers:

After a brand new install of Coppermine 1.4.16 and the latest Jupload 3.0.0rc4, i still get the SUCCESS error when I try to use the plugin.
I've put PHP Safe mode to off, and I checked all the access rights twice, I even changed the ownership of the entire domain to the user running the apache process. Normal file-by-file upload works as well.
Here's an outpot from the debug log, with Opera and Firefox browsers:

In the JUpload configuration page, you've selected the 'JUpload' value sessionManagement, correct ?

If not, can you just go to the JUpload configuration page. It would create a table that may be missing on your configuration. This should not be a problem. I'll give it a try.

I'll try that right away & report back. So all I have to do is put 'JUpload' with case/accents like that and it should work.

Exciting! >_<

edit: I tried with JUpload and 'JUpload'. Still the same error. :(

Hum,

Did you go on the JUpload configuration page ?  It should have corrected your problem.

Please, also take a look at the release 3.0.0, following this message.

Release 3.0.0
« Reply #484 on: February 07, 2008, 09:27:46 pm »

Hi,

Here is the announce for the 3.0.0 official Release.

The release is available here :
http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=43432.0;attach=10363

or on my wiki
http://etienne.lesgauthier.fr/wiki/doku.php?id=jupload_coppermine_download_gb

Release notes for 3.0.0:

This is a hotfix for 3.0.0rc4, and official 3.0.0 release.
3.0.0rc4 works ok, provided that you first take a look at the JUpload configuration page !

Change:
  * [Minor] The configuration parameter sessionManagement is now a list of values. Avoid someone typing jupload instead of JUpload, for instance.

Fix:
  * [Major] Release 3.0.0rc3 and 3.0.0rc4 need that the admin go to the configuration page, before beging to upload pictures, even without saving any configuration parameter: it creates a table that should be needed only in specific cases (when switching sessionManagement to JUpload)

I'm really sorry Etienne.
There's a little progress: I managed to upload one single file, but then got the error again. I'm starting to think there's something with my webhosting, because I copied the entire thing to a local LAMP PC i have here, and there it works as a charm.

I've included a complete log (from previous version though) and a screenshot of the newest version.

Log: http://files.strat3go.com/completelog.log

If you want to check the website, please go to foto.strat3go.com. I can give you an account if you want. :)

[moderation]
Stop posting hotlinked images - it causes a lot of moderation effort to replace them with attachments. You can add the attchments yourself in the first place instead (using "additional options" when composing your message). Hotlinked images go down, renedering your posting useless for others in the future. Attachments remain.

I'm sorry, I was trying to save you guys some bandwidth. :) I'll use attachment mode from now on.

Anyways, ontopic: I've been looking at some variables I can configure with my hosting service (servage.net), which could maybe help in getting the script to work:
PHP Safe Mode - Off
PHP Safe Mode GID - Off
PHP Register Globals - On
PHP Acceleration - On
PHP Acceleration Check Script Modification - Off
Shared SSL - Off
Temporary URL - Off

You told me earlier to switch off safe mode which helped me getting a little bit further. I don't know if any of these options could help, but if you notice somthing that might be important, don't hesitate to let me know!

Hi,

You're getting a very strange problem. It looks like dke's one: installation problem. You're hanging on a line that should not be executed in 3.0.0, if you've put default value (not JUpload) in sessionManagement.

  Can you :
- Uninstall JUpload, check that there is no more jupload subdirectory in the ./plugins, and re-install it.
- Then, reinstall JUpload.

If that doesn't, I'll have to add some extra debug info. Mainly: the list of configuration parameters

I checked the attached screenshot and i was wondering if you have tested with any other images? I found a real strange set of images that was not corrupted in any case, but when i tried to add them with jupload i got this sessionid thing also. However i opened the images in photoshop, resaved them (no modiifcation) from jpg to jpg, and voila it worked.

This has never happend before only with these pictures.

I went over to etienne_sf's demo page to check if hes jupload could handle the pictures but it couldn't either.

To etienne_sf if this sounds interesting i could probably dig up the pictures again and you could see for your self.

Keep up the good work!

Hi,

I'm really suprised about this problem.

If uninstall/reinstall and putting sessionManagement to default value (empty string) didn't correct your problem, please try the new package I've put on my wiki (3.0.0debug1) I've add a lot of debug info, to understand what's happening on your system.

Reporting a bug with the latest release 3.0.0

Gif animations will get ruined when uploaded through this build.

I tested your gallery and i got the same result, see here: http://etiennegauthier.free.fr/coppermine/thumbnails.php?album=155

All those 3 pictures are animations that move, all of them work when uploaded via upload.php or the older jupload builds (2.6.3 tested)

I would also like to request or ask if the following is possible.

I noticed these 2 values in upload_picture.php
Code: [Select]
    $movie_wd = isset($_POST['movie_wd']) ? (int)$_POST['movie_wd'] : 320;
$movie_ht = isset($_POST['movie_ht']) ? (int)$_POST['movie_ht'] : 240;

I was hoping these only were for "movie" content, but when i add audio they also get the same width and height as the code above. Is it possible to identify audio (mid,mp3,wav) and give all this content width 0 heigh 0 directly when uploaded instead of taking the default movie heigh/width value?

Thank you for the hard work!

Hi dke,

1) Are your (installation?) problems corrected ?

2) About gif animation: can you give the URL of one or several pictures that are badly transformed by the applet?

3) About your asking default height/width.
'Movies' are currently not managed by the applet. A simple way is be to add two fields (width, height) to the upload form (see explanation text just above the applet).
Added to my todo list.

Ok, somehow I got it to work again, without changing from CPG 1.4.6 and Jupload v3final. What I did is uninstall java 1.6u3 and install java 1.5u13 and indeed resize the pictures to a size below 1 Mo. That wat the uploads always work. Really weird. :)

Yes they got solved with the RC4 build thanks!!

2) About gif animation: can you give the URL of one or several pictures that are badly transformed by the applet?

Here you go, i uploaded a gif using jupload http://etiennegauthier.free.fr/coppermine/displayimage.php?pos=-1861 <- uploaded with jupload
Then i uploaded the same gif using upload.php (default upload tool for cpg) http://etiennegauthier.free.fr/coppermine/displayimage.php?pos=-1863 <-- uploaded with upload.php (default upload tool)

You can see that the animation is gone when uploaded through jupload.

A field wouldn't really fix the issue, since users will not know this anyway, i would like some kind of "hardcoded" solution that all mp3,mid,wav (audio) is always width 0 and height 0, a user will not understand to use these fields anyway.

Thanks!

Good.
(I really think it was not related to one JUpload release, but to a problem during installation, but it doesn't really matter)

Understood.

To remove metadata, I now always recreate the picture. But I guess I was not careful with multipicture file, like animated gif. I'll correct that.

A field wouldn't really fix the issue, since users will not know this anyway, i would like some kind of "hardcoded" solution that all mp3,mid,wav (audio) is always width 0 and height 0, a user will not understand to use these fields anyway.

I guess a field is the way the standard upload works.
Now, I agree with you. But it's not simple. No standard function in Java. I already study that. I'll have to first identify the good llibrary.

I have to correct my previous post, to have a hardcoded value of width 0 and height 0 on audio would render it useless, the value should be width = taken from cpg setting height 0, just like upload.php does.

?

404 means page doesn't exist on the server... Strange, as the upload target page exists: it's the same URL as the page the contains the upload. You must have something strange on your server, some kind of redirection or URL Rewriting ?

Can you give me the debug from the applet?

(see the doc, for info on this point)
