how to restore db ?
« on: March 28, 2007, 02:03:34 am »

I have cpg 1.3 and it was bridged to IPB (forum), i have just upgraded my forum to the latest version and created a new db as we had some problems.

Now i cant see my gallery and also when i go to upgrade it through cpanel  it cant find the DB (as it was deleted), i do however have a backup of the IPB/CPG bridged DB.

how do i get the data back? whilst upgrading to cpg1.4 and then rebridging to new forum and DB ?

can ayone provide some step by step instructions, or check mine.

..would i.

1. create a new db in cpanel with original db name and import backup sql data
2. then upgrade the gallery using this db
3. then copy over all cpg tables to new forum db
4. then edit config (or something?)

thx in adv.

Don't upgrade using cpanel. Only supported upgrade method is the one we describe in our documentation (link at the top of this page).

ok, the upgrading part is fine.

what about restoring the data from the old db and then transferring the data and bridging to the new db ?
