Upload File Link in Bridged Gallery
« on: March 15, 2007, 05:25:16 am »

Hi all,

I have Coppermine and Simple Machines Forum bridged. No problem there. This is probably a stupid question but I don't see a link where a user can upload photos to the gallery.

I must have some setting turned on that does not permit anyone to upload files. I had a look at SMF and I can't figure out what that would be. I am figuring the ability to upload would now be set on SMF since the SMF usergroups are listed on Coppermine.

I found this here.... I did that in Coppermine already and it does not seem to do the trick.

Go to the groups page and set the upload rights you want.

The answer is probably staring me in the face somewhere  but I am just kind of ??tired?? and cant seem to find it. Wouild someone please be kind enough to point me in the right direction.

Thanks in adv
Klew

1) The bridging doesn't take care of visual integration. It just ties Coppermine and SMF together in terms of user management, groups management and authentification. If you need a link in SMF that points to the upload section of Coppermine, you'll have to add the link on your own.
2) If the upload link is missing in Coppermine, you'll have to review your groups page. Review the sticky thread "When requesting bridge support - mandatory!" and the documentation section "Bridging support" and do exactly as suggested there if you need actual help.

Yes, I know I have to add the buttons. That's done already.

I will send info on the group. I did not include it because I thought this would be an easy fix - sorry.. I was sure it would just be some setting I did not adjust properly on SMF.

Forum install: http://www.sybeaumonde.com/board/index.php?action=manageboards;sa=board2
CM install: The above will take you to the forum, which has a button  ;) linking to the gallery at:
http://www.sybeaumonde.com/cpg1410/?board=redirect
Coppermine version: cpg1.4.2
Forum version: SMF 1.1.2 with TP 0971 installed

well that's it

Hope this will give you an idea what it looks like.

Bridging works.
It's a user or group setting of some sort I am sure.

Thanks in advance,

It's nothing in SMF, just the groups page in Coppermine.

Missing file?
« Reply #5 on: March 16, 2007, 12:24:35 am »

Hi all,

Have a question:

I posted a thread (in brdging) about not being able to see a link to allow users to upload photos. While looking around the admin tools area I found version check and thought I would see if anything was missing, although I have just the one and only install of the latest version of Coppermine on my site:

I found this info in versioncheck:

zipdownload.php   1.4.10   1.4.10   3275   3275
albums    n/a   n/a
albums/index.php   n/a   n/a
albums/edit/index.html   n/a   n/a
albums/edit/no_FTP-uploads_into_this_folder!     -      -
albums/edit    n/a   n/a
albums/edit/index.html   n/a   n/a
albums/userpics    n/a   n/a
albums/userpics/index.php   n/a   n/a
albums/userpics/no_FTP-uploads_into_this_folder!    n/a   n/a
bridge    n/a   n/a
bridge/coppermine.inc.php   1.4.10   1.4.10   3275   3275

-----------------

I ran "version comparison" to show missing files:

Version comparison
folder/file    cpg version    file version
albums/edit/no_FTP-uploads_into_this_folder!     -      -
include/makers     n/a   n/a
logs     n/a   n/a
Summary
Total files/folders checked:    243
Mandatory files missing:    1

Now could this have anything to do with why I am not seeing a link for the users to upload pictures on my gallery? Should I find the file and upload it?

TIA,
klew

Hmm....., well, Nibbler, I have set permission in Groups for all users except Admin to make albums . We have ecards and ratings disabled for all users (except moderators can send cards). We are not going to have public albums, only individual albums. The public albums settings are all set to allow them anyway. The one group we have not given permission to is guests. We are not allowing guests into our group.

So now...??? ...sigh

TIA,
Klew

I posted a thread (in brdging) about not being able to see a link to allow users to upload photos.
Merged separate threads.

Now could this have anything to do with why I am not seeing a link for the users to upload pictures on my gallery?
Link is there (see attached screenshot; upload link highlighted in red). I was able to upload just fine, see http://www.sybeaumonde.com/cpg1410/displayimage.php?pos=-66

Coppermine version: cpg1.4.2
You're not using cpg1.4.2, but cpg1.4.10 (as recommended)

Imo your question is invalid.

I went back and did the settings in groups again. It is working now. I may have closed the page without hitting update or something... :-[
Anyway if you want to delete this topic.....please go ahead, issue is solved.

Thanks again,
Klew

PS That picture you posted is sort of "invalid" on our group. This is a board for Ball-Jointed Fashion Doll collectors. I hope you don't mind if I delete it. If you are going to post on my group take some pictures of your dolls next time OK?

We never delete threads. The whole point of a support board is that threads remain after they have been solved for the benefit of others. You thread got marked as "solved" instead.

I don't have test pics that fit into your gallery's topic, that's why I uploaded a test pic that I have available. You're of course free to delete the test pic I uploaded. That's why I posted my name and a reference to this thread with the test pic. ::)
