I'm not good with doing scripts and stuff and I'd like to show a few latest pictures on my website (I already have lastest pictures added on the main page of the coppermine gallery I just want to show a few of them on my webpage).

Do a search for cpmfetch. That's a very good way to do what you want with almost dummy proof manual.
