Critical error: Upload Failure - './albums/edit/'
« on: March 12, 2007, 05:56:25 pm »

Hi,

I've been able to upload everything fine lately but then started having problems. I have always used the upload on the Coppermine gallery and everytime I would upload an image I would be directed to a "Success" page and then fill out the information and everything works fine. Now I do the same process, get sent to a "Success" page, fill out the information and get redirected to a page that says:

       Critical error
       Upload Failure - './albums/edit/'

I do not know why this is happening. I even changed the CHMOD preferences and the resolution of the images and it still gives me that error page. Please help me with this  ??? ???

No, you did not. Re-read it and pay particular attention to the section highlighted in red. Do exactly as suggested there!

See http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=41794.0

Btw, i get this when i click on Upload file
Code: [Select]
Error
Sorry there is no album where you are allowed to upload files

File: /www/free-site-host.com/s/i/m/simplybryce/htdocs/gallery/upload.php - Line: 864

Allow uploads to the albums in album properties. Search before posting.

Yes you may have granted a group the permission to upload. But you would have to go into the properties of a album and set that option there as wel.

Oh, ok, I got it. I have activated 1 album to allow user uploads :)

And oh, just wanted to let you know that I can't upload pictures that have big resolutions (1400x2100 for example) but I can upload images that are, let's say, 1400x1900.... Don't know if this helps any more?

Just a few hints to get the info you want:
Documentation reading
FAQ reading
Searching the board
Searching it again
Posting your question with as much info as possible.

Besides this is a different question which needs to be posted into its own thread ;).
Reading the FAQ would have told you this http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/faq.htm#cantUploadBigPics

Ask your hosting about that , in most cases they will not give you access to that file
