Problems after moving Servers and URLs
« on: February 19, 2007, 10:05:05 pm »

Hello, I have quite a weird problem that i cant figure out...

I dumped my photo gallery database, and ftp downloaded all of my files and photos. I than re-uploaded to my new server, imported the database and changed the correct values in the config php file. All is working beautify but of the 3500 or so photos, I am missing about 100 from random times of uploading and folders. Not just the thumbnail, but the actual full size image. All photos downloaded and uploaded perfectly through SmartFTP and all photos were uploaded via the built in PHP script.

Any ideas?

Go back to the old server, login to your FTP and browse into the albums/userpics folder that contains the most files. See if you get something suspicious like exactly 2000 files listed. If you do then the listings are probably truncated. Either delete some of the files you have already retrieved or ask your host to increase the limit.

The FTP files ARE there and in the correct folder. I have noticed a trend with Certain files being named the same when I uploaded for example...

DSCF0009.jpg - Dosnt Work
DSCF0009~1.jpg - Works
DSCF0009~2.jpg -Works

I saw this picture missing: http://www.kicentral.com/photos/albums/userpics/10001/thumb_DSCF0072.jpg

That gives a 404 so the file has not been uploaded to your server.

Here but the WEIRD thing is, that file is actually there and shows up in the FTP.

Im coming up with this...

http://www.kicentral.com/photos/albums/userpics/10001/DSCF0054.jpg - Doesn't work
http://www.kicentral.com/photos/albums/userpics/10001/DSCF0054~1.jpg - Works
http://www.kicentral.com/photos/albums/userpics/10001/DSCF0054~2.jpg - Works

All 3 files show up in my ftp client and on the servers web based file directory list.

Make sure you are not looking at the old server by mistake.
