Categories Upload
« on: February 17, 2007, 08:58:56 pm »

I have Categories and Albums created in them. When I try to upload, the Categories and Albums DO NOT appear in the drop down selection menu. Only my personal albums in members gallery appear. However the categories and albums do appear in my Album Manager.

Thank You

Check that group and album permissions allow you to upload to those albums.

Nibbler, Thanks for the reply,

I'm the Administrator.I have permissions (allowed) ticked Yes in Public Albums and Private Gallery.
I have No ticked for Approval. I do have ample storage space set for myself.

Nibbler, I figured it out.

I created the albums in Categories. Then manually added them into album Manager.

I thought that would be automatic  :-\.

Thanks for the help.

Nope that wasn't it. I just created albums in a different area.

This what I've done. Under Categories, I created  photography, under Photography I created Album 1 and Album 2.

Now, How do I upload pictures to those Albums. They do not appear as an option when I upload pics.

I also looked in the Coppermine folder on my web site, There is no folder named Categories. So I can't upload them that way.Unless it has a different name than Categories, But none of the folders have an Album 1 and Album 2 in it.

This is getting very frustrating. Then again maybe I'm trying to do something that can't be done ?

This is the categories I'm speaking of, There are no pictures in them.

If you can't upload/transfer pics to these albums what's the point of creating them ?

I know how to change the properties in my other albums, They have pictures in them.

Categories and albums are different things entirely. You can't upload directly into a category; you upload into the albums that they contain.

Nibbler, Finally, I got it through my thick head...lolol

I've removed the Albums from Categories and left the Parent Category intact.Went back and created the albums in Album Manager..Again. For some reason that didn't look like the right way to do it.

You can close this one.
I'm going to change my name before I come back..lolol

Thanks
