IPB and Coppermine -order of upgrade steps
« on: February 25, 2007, 11:25:33 pm »

Hi , just a general question

-I have IPB 1.3 and Coppermine 1.3 they are already bridged and working ok.

I am going to upgrade both to the latest versions, my question is what do i upgrade first? or do i unbridge and upgrade both or... ???

what are the correct steps to take?

The order doesn't matter. When upgrading from cpg1.3.x to cpg1.4.x, you automatically are unbridged, as the bridging mechnisms changed between those versions.

ok, thanks for that.

So are all the posts/pics etc going to appear in the upgraded version 1.4 , or will they only appear after i re-bridge ? to IPB.

as CPG is using the members table in the DB from IPB.

The pics, comments etc will still be there, but the correlation to the corresponding users will be lost untill you re-bridge.
