PHP5?
« on: February 15, 2007, 07:43:42 pm »

I'm just about to set up a site for someone using coppermine. He has not selected a host yet as one is cheap but does not support PHP5 and the other costs more but supports PHP5 and loads more besides.

My question is, will the next release of coppermine require PHP5 or do you recommend going that way just in case any of the new features might require it?

Minimum requirements for cpg1.5.x will probably not be PHP5; PHP4.x will be good enough. However, for security and stability reasons you should only accept webhosts that provide PHP5.
