Password protect a Album
« on: October 08, 2006, 01:06:38 am »

Hi,

I have the following question, i hope it's in the right place.

Is it possible to password protect a photo album.

Asking this because i also have some pictures on my gallery that are 18+ and i want to put a password on it so only selected people can see it after entering the password.

Greetings, Dj Viper

Yes, read the manual before posting.

I have password protected an album and the password is effective. Using the password the user can only see the thumbnail. I can not show the pictures individually. I may be under the wrong impression of the album password function. Clicking on a picture I receive an information screen that says 'No image to display'. I checked the manual a couple of times.

The album password feature has case sensitivity issues. If you use all lowercase passwords then you will be fine.

That was it, thanks. Was that in the manual, I search the manual to help with this problem but I guess I just missed the case sensitivity points. Thanks again.

After reading through the manual and testing out a password protected album, I've noticed something.

When I set the password on an album, I get prompted for the password like I would expect.

However, when I log out and am not logged in, the Last Viewed images shows this image on the home page.

How can this be avoided to fully hide an image from all users?

Thanks!

The authorisation to see the protected album is separate from your account login. To remove your authentication for protected albums you need to clear the prefix_albpw cookie.
