Change album name
« on: January 26, 2007, 02:15:10 am »

I am new to Coppermine, ver 1.4.8.   I uploaded two sets of photos for my site.  I thought I created two albums and loaded pics to them:  Office and SBC.  When in user mode, instead I see two headings under Category and they are User Gallery and SBC.

1)  How do I change the name from User Gallery to Office or move the pics from User Gallery to Office?

2)  I read the docs and I am still unclear between the differences in Category and Albums and Gallery.

3)  How do I set it so the albums appear on the main or index.php page and the user simple click on the gallery and the pictuers within the gallery appear.  I want to take out the default last upload and random pictures.  Thanks.

When logged in as Admin:

Albums --> Select Category --> Click on Album name.

Name will appear below.  Change name.  Click 'Apply Modifications'.

Your version is outdated, upgrading to the most recent version (currently cpg1.4.10) is mandatory.

I am not communicating effectively my issue so let me try again.  While in “User Mode, I see two categories, "User galleries" and "SBC".   Instead, I want Coppermine to show two albums, "Office" and "SBC".  I tried changing album names by switching to Admin mode and then Albums --> Select Category.  In Select Category there two options:

     My Gallery => album
     No Category => SBC.
     SBC => SBC

I do not see a "User galleries" anywhere in Coppermine so why are my pictures under this category?

And, which SBC category or album are my pictures really in?   I am confused.

I downloaded version 1.4.10 and will update it shortly.

Thanks.

'User galleries' is a category, so you change it using the category manager. Use the (e) button to edit the name.

Nibbler,

It worked!!!   Thank You.   Thank You.

One more question.  Is it possible to move pictures from one album or gallery to another?

My SBC Album is empty.  However, there are lots of pictures in the Random or Lastest Addition panes that I thought I placed in the SBC album.  I want to move them to the SBC Album instead.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Those are meta albums. They display a selection of pics from all albums. They are not real albums, they are automatically generated based on your content.
