Unable to create thumbnail or reduced size image.
« on: January 17, 2007, 12:17:22 am »

My service provider  provides scripts to install coppermine and I have todate installed a copy on my personal site with no problem.

I then ran the script on another site I maintain for a model friend and have been getting problems with the batch upload process, I subsequently installed
another gallery on my main site for testing purposes and get exactly the same problem.

The batch process fails with 'Unable to create thumbnail or reduced size image.'

/searchnew.php
Notice line 462: Undefined variable: edit_pics_content

I can see that the 'Thumb_' file had been created successfully so can only assume its the 'Normal_' file that may be failing or something that occurs after the 'Thumb_' file is created but before the 'Normal_'.

Given the Thumb_ file has been created this to me suggests it is not a directory permission issue.

The test photo gallery can be found here:  http://stevespurgin.com/testalbum/index.php
An admin user and password being:           [removed]

I have questioned my service provider and although they were not much help they did say there should be no restriction in running multiple copies.

Any pointers would be grately appreciated.

Don't post an admin account on a public forum.

Double check your folder permissions and try enabling silly_safe_mode.

To add to what Nibbler said: leave notices_display off unless you're a coder and you know what those notices mean. Don't use auto-installers - only supported method to install coppermine is the one we discuss in our documentation.

I gave up in the end and took your advice to avoid the auto installer and went back to your documentation and installed from scratch, all currently appears to be ok.

Cheers,
