I've tried to find something to help here but couldn't find exactly the correct solution so here's my problem.
I can't get the search to work on either the main search page or the quick search I added to the side bar.

The main search works, the quick search does not. See if updating the gallery helps.

very odd, OK thanks for looking, but i'm finding that in the main search if I type in a word that I know is in a picture caption and go search it won't find anything...BUT if I open an image in a separate page go to the caption copy a word and paste it in to the search field then hit search it find all the pictures related to that word. I've refreshed the thumbnails but nothings improves and also the quick search still won't work, is it because it's in the side bar not on the main content part of the page?? is there a know plugin to create a search in the side bar that you or anyone knows of ??

I have found that the search in the main form and the side bar is Case sensative, is there any way of changing this ??

quick thought....is there any reason hosting on a windows server would affect this, I've had issue's with case sensative files before on a windows server and I'm persanally now on a linux, but the site I'm currently working on http://www.featuredesk.co.uk/featuredesk/ is on a windows server so I'm told.

The search feature is not case sensitive by default.

maybe not by default but can it be changed?? if so I may have changed something without realising? I don't have any problems on my site ghsimages. On this site I'm putting clickable primary keyword links on the main page and at the moment I'm having to check how the word is written in the image caption for the link to work.
BTW. thanks for replying so quickly on this, this niggley prob is holding up building the site at the moment and it's doing my head in aswell

Check the collation of your Coppermine db. It should be something ending in _ci, not _cs.

sorry, still a relative newbie, where do I need to look, a file in the directory? or somewhere online.

FIXED. WOO HOO,  I moved the gallery and all the files over to an installed CPG on my Linux server instead of the original windows server and guess what....it worked first time with out any changes being made.
