Is there a way to embed background music into Coppermine?

Not out of the box, but you're free to edit your stylehseet accordingly. To avoid the music stopping each time a user navigates inside your page you'll have to use frames.
I strongly recommend reviewing the idea though: most users hate it when a site loads and music starts. Most users who like to listen to music while they surf prefer choosing the music themselves (using podcasts, web radio or similar).
Anyway, here's a mod for you: "Music for your site"
