How to resize all pictures in gallery?
« on: November 08, 2006, 05:54:46 pm »

Hi guys I've terrible problem, my gallery is growing and growing and growing, last month we used 150 gb of bandwidth for me its terrible ammount.
I have to reduce this value, I think that the easiest way is to scale down all pictures. At this moment max size of pictures is 1024x768, now I would like to set it to 800x600.
Is it possible to reduce all pictures that are bigger than 800x600? Please don't tell me to do it manually because my gallery has above 6k pictures
Best regards,
YacentY

have a look at the admin tools. there is this option where you can update the imagessize.
first change your settings here: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#admin_picture_thumbnail

than run the admin tool picture resizing. if you use stramms modpack than you don`t have to sit and watch and klick the whole time because it provides the function: "Admin tools auto refresh (update images/ thumbs without the need to permanently click the continue button)" http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=28367.0

Be warned though: resizing on the server eats up a lot of resources - make sure that the process described by Farnsi won't make your site exceed it's CPU quota; some webhosts may be picky about this.

that soultion doesn't work in my gallery :(
it took me about 4-5 hours and there is a lot of pictures n 1024x768 resolution :(
My settings:
Files and thumbnails settings-> Max width or height for uploaded pictures/videos (pixels)  - 800

Admin tools:
Update thumbs and/or resized photos (1) -> Everything... full sized, resized and thumbs

What am I doing wrong?

That is not the correct setting. You need to change 'Max width or height of an intermediate picture/video'
