Update image, instead of delete

Sorry if this is already available, but I can not find it anywhere. Is it possible to be able to replace images, instead of deleting them? I.e a user uploads an image, but later updates it. He wants to keep the comments for that image, but to replace the image can only delete and upload again.

Feature already exists as a plugin, search the board.
