Addons? Uploading multiple pictures via http.

I am hoping somone can help me find a solution to my problem.  I have several portfolios I need to put online in a short amount of time and do not have the resources (i.e. lots of people and computers to do lots of clicking to upload lots of photos one at a time) to upload over 500 photos onto my coppermine gallery.  I'm in desparate need of something like facebook where I can upload medium-large sized batches of photos that need to be resized (by my gdlib or imagemagick).  I've done a considerable amount of research and I'm just not seeing where to do this or if there are any addon scripts that will do the trick.

Any ideas?

Use FTP-uploads plus batch-add. Refer to documentation for details.
