Picture viewable, but now gone
« on: October 26, 2006, 03:28:29 am »

This is really strange. The thumbnail shows, but the main image does not:
http://www.japaneselifestyle.com.au/japan_picture/displayimage-43-13.html

The image is on the server http://www.japaneselifestyle.com.au/japan_picture/albums/upload/tokyo/harajuku/harajuku_IMG_1137.jpg

At first I thought the image had been removed or corrupted on the server, so I deleted it with a FTP program and then uploaded it again. This is clearly not the case as you can view the image directly.

Then I thought it was a mod rewrite issue, but if it was then the problem should be same for all the other images in this section of the gallery. This is not the case.

I have tried two different computers and two different ISPs.

Any ideas?

Turn the SEF_URL plugin off.

Why do you say it is the SEF plugin?

Surely it would impact on all the images or at least the ones in the same album.

There is no logic to your answer.

Your assumption is that SEF plugin must cause the problem, even though it does not impact on the other images. I am sorry I just don't see the logic there.

I suggested turning the SEF_URL plugin off to be able to rule it out as culprit. It is experimental and known to cause issues. Well, you didn't heed my advice, so I went to your site once more, checked the output, looked up the URL of the full-size image and *surprise* the file is not where coppermine expects it. What other answer could I possibly give?
You originally posted on the uploads board, although your issue doesn't seem to be related with uploading, so I had to move your thread.
If you don't like my logic and don't do as I suggested, then I'm out of this thread. Maybe someone else wants to look into your issues. Bye.

you haven't uploaded the file coppermine expects. The file you deleted was harajuku_IMG_1137.JPG and the new file you uploaded is harajuku_IMG_1137.jpg

That's two different ones. File names are case sensitive (upper, lower case matters too)

Fantastic Stramm - that is the solution. I have no idea how or why that occurred.
