Batch Add - some files are out of sequence
« on: October 11, 2006, 09:28:57 pm »

Using Coppermine 1.4.9

in case the answer is out there, i searched and found a similar but not quite related thread but was warned it was not recently active and to start a new one instead of replying...

I wanted my pictures chronologically so I renamed all the pictures based on time taken but when I batch added, some of the pictures were out of order.

i.e. from sort pictures page:

IMG0001.jpg
IMG0002.jpg
IMG0003.jpg
IMG0008.jpg
IMG0004.jpg
IMG0005.jpg
IMG0006.jpg
IMG0007.jpg
IMG0009.jpg

I suppose that during the batch add process, IMG0008.jpg probably got its blue "OK" before 4,5,6,7.

Note: chronologically and sequentially its the same list, I don't think the chronological part is relevant because I think Coppermine goes alphabetically

Set the files to be ordered by filename in config.

I have this very same problem ... is there anything I can do differently? Going through and hand sorting so many files takes up so much time  :(
