punbb bridge
« on: October 06, 2006, 01:36:51 pm »

So this is a semi repeat of a post here: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=36127.msg174321#msg174321
that the mods felt the need to lock.

So I have had the internet back on for nearly a week and have tried a few times to get this working.

I am having this problem...

I do not seem to be able to subscribe to image comments:

I run this:
www.mysite.com/galleries/subscribe.php?subscribe=41  (where 41 is the image id number)

and i get this error:

Code:

Error
You don't have permission to access this page.

File: /vhost/vhost1/t/h/e/thebutterflyfilm.co.uk/www/galleries/subscribe.php - Line: 10

I am doing all these tests on the testing server (http://www.thebutterflyfilm.co.uk/galleries/) and am using your tentacle theme to keep things clear and similar to your site for now.

The way I did the install was to copy all the files into the copermine folder (overwriting where the same files exhist) then ran the database update in coppermine.

Is there anything I am missing or may have done wrong?

Any help would be much appreciated...and thanks again for taking time out to do a punbb bridge.

P.s.

I also notice that af3 (who also uses the punbb bridge you recently wrote) is getting the same permission error as me when trying to subscribe to comments.

this sounds like a permission error... not related to the thread you refered to. The subscribtion stuff doesn't have to do with a certain bridge file. I've rewritten and changed some functions so subscribtion works under certain environments (when table joins aren't possible). You'd need to upgarde the modpack

in what way do i need to upgrade the modpack?  I have the latest version (1.4.9)

Have you enabled 'Enable user notification on comments' in config? Either that is not enabled or you are not logged in.

damn, you are right, I feel stupid

I never noticed the 'Enable user notification on comments'

I am still having trouble with minithumbs but I will try and fix it myself for a while before posting again.

Thanks for the help.

as enthusiastic as I was the comments are not actually being emailed...whe I click on "subscribe to comments" it says I am subscribed and then doesn't actaully send out an email (i have tested this with a few user accounts).

The PM system works fine and sends the email notification out correctly.

ahmm.. and I found a lil bug
after you upgarded find in db_input.php

Code: [Select]
$mail_info['user_email'] = $email_result['user_email'];and replace with
Code: [Select]
$mail_info['user_email'] = $email_result['email'];
the profile settings for email notifications in punbb are kinda not existing... users need to set
Privacy -> Hide your e-mail address but allow form e-mail to get notifications

I did the upgrade and looked for the bug but it was already fixed.

The problem still persists though...no email sent, ive tested it with different user accounts an images.

It's strange as the email notification of private messages works just fine.

I think will do a clean intall of everything and give it another go.

Cheers for all your help

Sorry to bring this up again as it has been quite a while but I have been too busy to give this my full attention for a few weeks.

I have now done a clean install of coppermine and punnbb and installed your modpack...everything works except the emails are not sent out.

Minithumbs and the subscription manager and everything works except the emails don't get sent.

When I unbridge coppermine and punbb the emails get sent out fine but stop working if they are bridged.

I followed the install instructions very carefully but I can't seem to get it to work.

The only thing I noticed was that when running the bridging wizard I have to have "Use Post based groups" off otherwise commenting and uploading images doesnt work.

Here are the testing installations I have been working with:

PUNBB installation:
http://amateurillustrator.com.s2734.gridserver.com/punbb/index.php

Coppermine installation:
http://amateurillustrator.com.s2734.gridserver.com/cpg/index.php

Just wandering what steps you did to get this working?

Cheers

anyone?

everything works just the comment notification emails are not being sent when i turn on bridging.

has anyone got an example of this working in punbb?

I would really appreciate some help...I would love to get this working over the weekend.

Should I provide more information about my ph versions and stuff...I can also PM you a admin login and pass if that would help.

Cheers

Thanks for letting me test it on your server. It's not a punbb bridge related problem but a general bridge problem.

To fix this, unpack the attached zip replacing the existing files
