unwanted comments from spam bot
« on: October 04, 2006, 09:12:47 am »

Hello,

my 1.4.9 gallery is hit by a spam bot network. I allow public comments to my pictures and the bot use this to post spam ion the comment field. It comes from several ip addresses so that banning these makes no sense. Seems to me, that a lot of zombie computers are used for this.

The only way for me is disabling the public comments. The flood protection inside coppermine doesnt work because he use different IP adrresses.

Is there a way to us a captcha input validation for the comments? Maybe as plugin? This should prevent from be spammed by a bot.
