I DONT want all images in the same folder!!!
« on: February 06, 2004, 02:17:40 am »

Why on earth is all images put in in the same folder (/userpics)???? When I have uploaded my 6578 pictures. How am I suppsed to be able to sort them into different albums??? It seems as the most obvious solution that each album has their pictures stored in their own library. It is IMPOSSIBLE to manage ones pictures if they all reside in the same folder.

Am I completely misstaken? At the moment it seems as if coppermine  is made to hold 10-20 photos at most :P

Did you even bother to read the documentation or try the program?

userpics is where coppermine puts photos uploaded by users.

As the docs says, you must not ftp pics into userpics, but you should make your own folders and sub-folders, within 'albums'.   You can just ftp your existing folders, keeping the structure you already have, and it's up to you how many pics go in each folder.

still... when users are uploading pics in shared albums, the pics will all end up  in their own userpicfolder. Meaning that at my site, there are users with more than 1000 pics in their userpics/user/ folder.....
