Moved to a new web host
« on: September 16, 2006, 04:10:11 pm »

I recently moved to a new web host and could use some help getting my gallery back up. I am pretty sure I need to set up a new MySQL and then install the cpg144 that I had before. But after the fresh install what do I need to upload to get my members galleries, bbc code copy to clipboad hack and watermark hacks all back? Your assistance is greatly appriciate!!

I did as the directions stated but no joy. When I load the link to the gallery it says page can not be displayed. I do see though that when I restore a MySQL on my new server the database name is different. Is there a file I can change to point the gallery to a database with a different name?

Yes, modify include/config.inc.php. If you get a 404 then you just have the url incorrect.

That is exactly what is happening Nibbles is the 404 error. I figured if it was a MySQL problem the page would at least load and say some error about MySQL database or something. The address is not wrong how ever. I have double checked it and the address is where it is on the new server. If I do a fresh install can I reupload users galleries and pictures?

Edit:

 I now get a

Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !

MySQL said: Lost connection to MySQL server during query

Have you verified the correct database user, and that the database user has the necessary privileges?  Is the MySQL server and client the same as on your old server?

Now I edited config.inc and get this error While executing query "SELECT * FROM cpg144_config" on 0

mySQL error: Table 'thunderb_100688sql.cpg144_config' doesn't exist

kegobeer they are not the same. I am going from Godaddy to Hostmonster and the old server was mysql35.secureserver.net now it is just local host. user names are differnt and I changed all that in config.inc

They won't help me anymore at my webhost they said now I need to come to coppermine support for help and you would help me migrate over. I am sorry if I have not provided what you need. I am not the best at MySQL so please bear with me.

The message implies you have the prefix incorrect. Verify it using phpmyadmin.

Well I can't find the prefix in phpmyadmin but I do see that I have no tables in the database so I guess I did something really wrong. So I guess I just have to start over with a new install and let those 1,000 pictures that are all over my forum stay as red X's.  :-\

No, just use phpMyAdmin to import your SQL file that you created when you exported your old database.

When I go to phpmyadmin and I click on import then upload the dump file it tells me #1044 - Access denied for user 'thunderb'@'localhost' to database 'thunderbucks'
