Cookie settings has to be changed after update?
« on: September 18, 2006, 09:25:14 am »

Hi,

I thinks this is simple.  I upgraded an old gallery directly  from  1.4.5 -> 1.4.9

I followed the procedure for the update and it seemed to work. In the past, I have to manually change the cookie setting.  This time though, I was hesitant to change the cookie setting because I am unsure what would happen, and this is a very big site already.

So, the cookie setting is still at "1.4.5".  I
s there any malfunction if the cookie setting if I kept it at "1.4.5"?
Is there any potential impact on the database if I change the cookie setting to "1.4.9"?

Thanks.

Cookie names don't matter at all as long as they are valid. I recommend not to use dots in cookie names. Name your cookie 'mysite' if you want. You don't have to reflect version changes in cookies.
