The gallery is gone after adding a theme
« on: September 13, 2006, 03:24:24 pm »

Hello. I'm new to Coppermine and the forum.

I tried to add a new theme I created and set it as default. But it was all messed up because I forgot to put HTML file! I uploaded it as I noticed it, but nothing had changed. Then I decided to remove the file and renamed other theme file for the one I had removed, but the gallery didn't show up and there was this error message "MySQL said: Lost connection to MySQL server during query". Is my gallery broken?? How can I fix it? It is very important to me, so please someone help!!!  :'(

That's a server issue, unrelated to theming. You can access your gallery via the classic theme by adding ?theme=classic to the end of your site url.

If you are new to Coppermine then start with the latest stable version (1.4.9 currently), 1.3 is old and will soon be unsupported.

Like, xxxxxxx.com/photos/?theme=classic ?

Well, the similar errors happened when I set a new theme to my phpBB forum as default and I removed it BEFORE I set other theme as default.  :'(

Sorry, but I don't even know what my version is. How do you know? If mine is 1.3, how can I change it to latest stable version??

- You can find your CPG version by looking at end of page source (Right click and select view page source on FF and similar on IE)
- read upgrade documentation here:

Thank you!

So, I was using the theme "rounded_corner" and editing it to make my own theme.
I renamed the file as "rounded_corner2" just for now.

This is how it looks right now.

Now I can log in at least, but

I can't read anything.  :'(  I need to change the default theme as soon as possible but I don't know where the link is. I don't think this theme contained the config page for some reasons. Could anyone please give me the link where I can go to the config page?

Thank you.

Nevermind about the second image. I can read the texts now. Now I just need what to add to my site URL for going to the config page to change the default theme. Your help will be greatly appreciated!!!

Is it okay to PM you a link to my gallery? I've always worried about getting spammers by posting links in the forums like this. I will be grateful if you could check my gallery.

I sent it to you. Thank you!

My gallery is offline right now so any visitors cannot see how I've been changing themes. If I need to set it online for you to look at, then please let me know.

So, I downloaded 1.4.9

Do I just need to upload the whole file and overwrite?
But what about the photos that are already uploaded in the gallery?

Do not over write Albums folder , do not over write include/config.inc.php and anycontent.php
Create a backup of all your files and DB as well
In fact you should do as upgrading doc. said
