:NEWBIE: /alblist/catlist/
« on: September 07, 2006, 04:14:25 pm »

Hello Everyone!  :)

When people take a look at my site I would like if they could see the album first and not the catlist first. Everytime I set this up as breadcrumb/alblist/ it does not allow the albumlist to show first. Under the config to show the album I have to it setup like this : breadcrumb/catlist/alblist/.  I did setup the album under a category labeled *My gallery* and not *No gategory* is that the possible problem? if so can I migrate the album to No catergory and still keep my text for the photos?  Here is my site for a better understanding http://www.d-secure.org/coppermine/

Thank you

You do not have to assign an album to a category so you would use the *no category when creating the albums. You can move your albums to this list when logged in as admin and viewing the album list, you'll see a button for "properties". Here you can move it. Link to manual - http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#album_prop

Now for the caveat, if you have ANY categories in your gallery, these unassigned albums will appear after them on the main page.

[Edit] Sorry... I misspoke above. If you change your breadcrumb to
Code: [Select]
breadcrumb/alblist/catlist/etc, these unassigned ablums will appear first on the main page.

Are you saying that it's working OK for you now? Also, you should upgrade you gallery to the latest version.

I upgraded to 1.4.9 but still under Properties and Album category it lists User Gallery in plain text? Do I need to enable anything?

Don't make albums in user galleries, make them in proper categories.

You (as coppermine admin) should stay out of user mode at all times. Click on "albums" of the admin menu and create albums there.

Is there away I can transfer the gallery over to a album made under Admin mode and still keep the text I place for the pictures?

You can move the files from the personal galleries to public galleries. Click on "Edit files" next to the album thumbnail, then use the dropdown box next to each file, choose the public album you want the pic to be moved to. Submit your changes then.
