Weird permissions
« on: June 01, 2007, 09:52:12 pm »

Hello I have a bridged SMF forum and Coppermine Photo Gallery running on my site. There seems to be a problem lately with any new registered users who upload photos to the site. I have a few php scripts (cpmfetch) that run to pull photos from the database and post them on the front page at random, but the new users photos are not able to be pulled. I have researched with trial and error and am stumped. I think it may be that when they upload pictures, they go to the /photo/albums/userpics/ directory and then to there user ID folder. 10239 and 10240 specifically. I have trouble with any of the original untouched photo that are owned by "httpd". (the script makes an intermediate, thumbnail and mini thumb which are owned by httpd in my entire database) But also if I use the windows xp publisher under my login it will show the folders and files owned by httpd but yet they will parse to the front page. Also if I use a new user test account with all the same permissions as myself with windows xp publisher they will not parse to the home page. Xp publish puts the pictures in /photo/albums/wpw-YYYYMMDD format.

I have checked the MYSQL permissions and have tried to mirror the setting with a functioning account to a new account with no luck. Can anyone shed a little light on this for me?

Yes everything is CHMOD'd correctly, Yes I have the latest version.

Thanks in advance

Post deep links.

GauGau, I'm not sure what you mean by "Deep Links" If it is a gallery link your referring to I will need to set up a "guest" account for you. The website is www.robbinsfamilysite.com I have nearly 8000 pictures and I love it. (anything other than thumbnails require login)

This problem is rather strange, and may be more less related to cpmfetch, but I am not sure yet.

I have recently found a way to change ownership on ALL existing files in the database from httpd to "me" but that still won't parse the photos to the home page that were uploaded by a recent member. Neither the "my gallery" images nor if there are just plain put in another album that does parse. (all the photos uploaded by someone else anyway)

The "new" photos uploaded by the new users, however do display on the coppermine index.php page.

I am thinking there must be some sort of buried permissions within SQL regarding in depth photo permissions. Where it is thats the question.

Although the photo's are not in private albums, nor are they allowed. I tried the cpm_unlock_private found on vuud's website to no avail.

If nothing here seems to ring a bell as to the problem, let me know and I can post a test account for you or even better yet PM you an administrator account. Your help IS appreciated.
