I am very new to Coppermine... Added it two days ago. Currently using:
Version: 1.4.9 (no modifications, straight out of zipped folder)
Plugins: did not install any...
Theme: Igames
Server: FreeBsd/Unix (I'm just adding this, don't know spit about it) 4.7 release; Apache
PHP: Version 4.4.2
MySQL: version 4
Site Link: www.aremgallery.com/Glr/I have disabled the new user registration function from within the admin mode>config section... I want to remove the "My Favorites" link and button... Since I wont allow general user registrations, there is simply no point in having it there. I will add specifc users but thats it and they wont need the link or function as well. I also want to remove or disable (preferrably both) the "File Information" function as well. I have been reading for hours through the many threads that seem to touch on this matter. Unfortunately, this has made me more confused than ever. I read through this thread:

to edit a menu (or anything else), take a look at themes/sample/theme.php, find the menu section, copy it over to the theme you're actually using (themes/yourtheme/theme.php). Then edit the menu accordingly (comment the login link out, don't remove it). Where do I find this Sample/theme.php? And where in the mix above do I put it?
In another thread it was suggested to the poster, that they use the Final Extract plugin but at the same time it was stated that it's primary function was to remove the 'login & logout' links... It was also suggested to change the code.php... I looked into the code.php file and wasn't sure what to specifically change. This is what I found:

Lastly, the only thread I found about removing the file information related to cpg 1.3 and was posted back in June of 2005. Can someone direct me to a current 1.4x thread, if one exist, on this particular topic: removing the file information button, link and or feature?
