Can Filename be moved to Title on Upload?
« on: September 01, 2006, 03:34:39 pm »

Searched forums, couldn't find this anywhere....

We use Coppermine heavily at my college.  It really is a nice tool to provide faculty who want to bring their image libraries into the classroom and also make them available to their students outside of class.  We do large numbers of batch loads in our environment and then want to "search" for images.  Many of our faculty have taken great pains to name the files of their images carefully and in a way that represents what the image is.  Thus is would be helpful if we could populate the Title fields in their gallaries with the filename at upload.  So...

Can you have filenames automatically "copied" into the Title field on batch file uploads?

Thanks.

i've been looking for a way to accomplish this as well.

i'm not a coder, but it seems like a very simple thing to add to the batch script.

i will post here if i find some solution.

it would help a lot, as some of the paypal hacks need titles for it to work.

1.3 is no longer supported, update your gallery. I am pretty sure how to do this has already been posted.

Hi,

I've really searched this forum for hours and am unable to find how to automatically populate the "title" field with the file name (preferably the file name stripped of underscores and the extension). I'm running the latest version of coppermine. v1.4.10

I know how to mass fill the titles after the uploads are done, but this isn't really workable for an active forum... it also strips any existing titles you may have put in.

Can anyone offer any advice as to how to automatically populate the title field with the file name in upload?

cheers...

I'm running the latest version of coppermine. v1.4.10

Then use the 1.4 support board. Locking.
