Renaming
« on: August 22, 2006, 06:38:20 am »

My problem is , I am from country of slovakia, and we use many of these symbols like č/š/é/á symbols that are not A-Z,0-9,... I am looking for some software which has defined these simbols and can simply rewrite them by normal symbols or at least delete them.

Do those special chars exist in your file names, folder names, comments, titles, captions? You have to be more specific what you actually want to do.

Ive got them in filenames and in foldernames (mostly in foldernames) , I want to change this chars to normal (for exam. č to c, ž to z)  or just delete them, i tried many apliccations but they mostly offer "find char and replace it" but for that i must know all of restricted chars in my filenames, so Im looking for apliccation that has list of these restricted characters and which can replace them or delete

example , Ive got folder "2006-08-21 Sivecká skala" and pictures named  "Obrázok(1), Obrázok(2)"

(translation: obrázok=picture)

adding those characters to
config => Files and thumbnails advanced settings => Characters forbidden in filenames
may help , in this way CPG will remove them from filename , hopefully ;)
