Fuzzy square thumbs - SOLVED.
« on: August 21, 2006, 12:38:05 pm »

I didn't know what else to title this thread....anyway, thanks for allowing this sub-forum (great idea).

To continue or thoroughly explain my previously mentioned problem with getting square thumbnails up-and-running after the CPG1.4.8 upgrade:

Sorry, Stramm but I should have mentioned that I can set the thumbnails to 'Exact' and I will get square thumbnails. However, even with updating these cropped images don't appear as they should---they're squashed and pixelated (for lack of a better description).

I just can't get this to work.

See here.

Any suggestions?

Stramm,

Nevermind. Oddly enough, I just ran another update on the minithumbs and regular thumbs and now they display properly. Weird.

Thanks.

EDIT: I spoke too soon...minithumbs look terrible now. I give up.

Thanks for the link, as far as I can see everything works smooth except the mini thumbs. They get generated but not cropped (they maintain the aspect ratio of the orig. and get 'pressed' into the 65x65px html img tag)

To verify I'd need your settings (minithumbs, aspect etc.)

as it looks now I'd say not bad at all. Aspect needs to be 'exact', set width/ height of the mini and recreate the 'minithumb'. If that doesn't help report back here

It's a strange porblem cause I myself use minithumbs as category lead images for over a year and never experienced anything like that. In your case it's not theme dependent.

And you've rerun the admin tools to recreate the mini thumbs??? Hmm, can you zip your picmgmnt.inc.php and attach it to your next post

Stramm,

Yeah, I've run the admin tool more times than I can recall. Here's the file, although its probably the same one you have from CPG1.4.8.

FYI, I tried updating again a few minutes ago and a lot of the regular thumbs are as fuzzy looking as the minithumbs.  ???

You do not run the modpack version of picmgmnt.inc.php... please upload it again and retry.

That was it. Silly me, thinking I know what I'm doing.

Thanks for all your help, Stramm. Much appreciated. :D
