Coppermine in 2 languages
« on: August 17, 2006, 04:29:17 pm »

Is it possible? I've searched in the forum and I haven't found anything....
I want it in spanish and english.
I want that my users have the possibility to see the website in English or Spanish....

Of course it's possible.

Go to admin.php, check boxes like my screenshot :

(https://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.tt-hardware.com%2Ffichiers%2Fuploads%2Fupload_14_3%2Flanguage.jpg&hash=58ddbcb463f4421420e893f4859262dd11de9367)

Then, use your FTP client and go to your coppermine_installation_directory/lang and the delete the non-used language files .

-----

Another method : Use the plugin MiniCMS to create a "language banner"

then create links like these :

http://your_coppermine_directory/index.php?lang=spanish
http://your_coppermine_directory/index.php?lang=english

The second method is more user friendly AMHA.

Language selectors make little sense though, as coppermine will be displayed in the language the visitor has set as prefered language in his browser (if that langauge exists as coppermine language). Pretty nifty, eh?
