Space Between Nav Bar & Intermediate Image Display
« on: August 14, 2006, 12:11:54 am »

I'm trying to get a space in between the navigation bar and the intermediate image display table...
http://gallery.adamsphotogallery.com/thumbnails.php?album=58&page=3

I want it to look like it does on the thumbnail view page where before the thumbnail table begins there is a space below the navigation bar. Here is an example...
http://gallery.adamsphotogallery.com/displayimage.php?album=58&pos=34

I assume this change is in theme.php.

Any help would be great! :)

you should have $template_cat_list variable under your theme.php (if you don't have it already , copy it from themes/sample/theme.php)
search for
Code: [Select]
<img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" border="" height="7" width="1"><br>
under $template_cat_list variable and remove it or change the height size the way you want

The one you told me to change was the page where the thumbnails on displayed. I want to expand the amount of space on this type of page (display image page): http://gallery.adamsphotogallery.com/displayimage.php?album=58&pos=34. Sorry for the confusion.

If this code isn't in your theme.php, copy if from the sample>theme.php
Code: [Select]
// HTML template for intermediate image display
$template_display_media = <<<EOT
        <tr>
                <td align="center" class="display_media" nowrap="nowrap">
                        <table cellspacing="2px" cellpadding="0px" class="imageborder">
                                <tr>
                                        <td align="center">
                                                {IMAGE}

                                        </td>
                                </tr>
                        </table>
                </td></tr>
                <tr><td>
                                                <table width="100%" cellspacing="2px" cellpadding="0px" class="tableb">
                                <tr>
                                        <td align="center">

                                                {ADMIN_MENU}
                                        </td>
                                </tr>
                        </table>

<!-- BEGIN img_desc -->
                        <table cellpadding="0px" cellspacing="0px" class="tableb" width="100%">
<!-- BEGIN title -->
                                <tr>
                                        <td class="tableb"><center><b>
                                                {TITLE}
                                        </b></center></td>
                                </tr>
<!-- END title -->
<!-- BEGIN caption -->
                                <tr>
                                        <td class="tableb"><center>
                                                {CAPTION}
                                        </center></td>
                                </tr>
<!-- END caption -->
                        </table>
<!-- END img_desc -->
                </td>
        </tr>

EOT;

Add a <br /> after the line
Code: [Select]
$template_display_media = <<<EOT

That didn't work. I added the template for intermediate image display and typed <br /> after the line $template_display_media = <<<EOT and I keep getting a blank screen when I do that. Can I use a spacer instead as I would prefer to do that to get exactly the right amount of space I want. If not, let me know what I am doing wrong regarding the <br />.

Funny because I did it before I answered this post to make sure that it would work as planned and it gave a single line between the navbar and image. Check to make sure you copied the complete code (or copy it from the below code I pasted in) and try again. Make sure you have the last line which is EOT;.

I tried it again and I realized whats happening. The space is being put AFTER the the slide show, next, etc. buttons (which I just realized is called the navbar). I want the space to be above the navbar between that and the table that has "Home > Category > Album". I do not want a space between the navbar and the picture. Does this make since? I appreciate the help!

I just figured it out, by following the instructions you said, but using $template_img_navbar instead. Thanks for your help!
