Missing Menu upgrade from 1.3.3 to 1.4.8
« on: July 23, 2006, 08:08:45 am »

When I go to my gallery at top I see only The name of my gallery , the description amd then the words (MAIN_MENU) .  I can see all of my pictures and albums fine.  I used the direct link to login at www.xxxxx.xxx/cpgphoto/login.php to check all my settings and run version check which says all is fine. I loaded a theme from the support site also and chose the new theme which inlcudes all the updates. Still only see the same. Any idea what I must do to get login and other choices back ?

1) Post an actual URL instead of a dummy one
2) Do as suggested in the theme upgrade guide

your default theme is fine (1.4.x compatible)
try this:
http://www.glband.org/CPGPhoto/index.php?theme=default
your standrad themes are from 1.3.3 , you should copy 1.4.8 themes.

Ok that looks a bit better , no config button but at least I see them again . However in the source I still see the wrong CSS being used, it shows waterdrop css being called.

As bmossavari suggested: do a full upgrade. This means: copy everything within the new package to your server, including the themes that come with cpg1.4.8. Upgrade your custom theme as I suggested above.

Ok, redownloaded zip file , copies all files over to server .  Same problem , so I used the default them to get to config and select a 1.4.x theme that was downloaded from coppermine.  completely removed water drop theme from server but as you can see in the source it still tries to use it . Thanks for help so far , long day I must rest and try again tomorrow . Here is the source list ... No idea why it continues to use this even when i select a new theme in config.

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache" />

<link rel="stylesheet" href="themes/water_drop/style.css" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="scripts.js"></script>

your ftp client didn't overwrite these files!
try this:
- manualy delete all standard (not the custom one) themes from themes folder
- copy it from original cpg1.4.8 pack

In the future, rename you custom theme to something genuine and modify the links in it accordingly. This way, you will have to go through less issues when upgrading. Zip up your custom theme folder and attach it to your reply here (using "Additional options" when composing your message). Should be pretty easy to come up with the changes for you, however you're missing the fun of going through the code (and on the way learning something). We believe in educating users, not only giving them code for copy'n paste.

I didnt use a custom theme , I have always used the water_drop theme as it came standard.  I completely removed themes folder from server and re-copied only themes folder from cpg148  to server. A all of the standard themes choices were listed. No matter which is chosen the same theme appears , and if you right click the page and select source you still see it using 1.3.3 .  There are no 1.3.3 files anywhere on the server that I can see. If I look at water_drop theme all are 1.4.8 files. If you have any other ideas I would love to hear them otherwise I think I may just delete everything and do a full install from scratch . As a last attempt I have downloaded a 1.4.x theme from coppemine and have it as the only theme in the folder. . Right now the only theme is a theme called kaki that is a 1.4.x theme.  But when i go to the gallery I still can right click on the page, ook at source  and see that it is using 1.3.3 stuff from somewhere . Im at a loss what to try next . All help thus far is appreciated .

you didn't need to reinstall at all , you could try to copy include/theme.inc.php in case of using old theme.inc.php
