You're using cpg1.4.6 - upgrade to the most recent version asap (currently cpg1.4.8). Post a deep link to one of the files you're trying to add.

I deleted the pics by  going to the album  and selecting 'edit files' I then selected all files and deleted them. Was that wrong?

I've replaced a .php file so i can now do single uploads but doing batch doesn't work.

I want to add photos to 'album name' so I selected that folder in the batch area but I'm told there are no new files. So I uploaded the files again with a different folder name, still I get the same message should the files be deleted from somewhere else first?

Any particular reason for not doing as I suggested?

because I can't 'save as' in my mysql8 and i'm not sure if copy with work.
Also I am still trying to get mysqldumper to work.
What is a deep link?

Though you didn't answer my question in my last post lol

So you have issues creating a database backup? Then what's "mysql8"? You create the mySQL dump using phpMyAdmin. There's a section in the FAQ that explains how to create a backup. Not sure what issue you have with  a "save as" dialog.
If you still need answers, refer to the phpMyAdmin docs, or ask your webhost for support. It's mandatory to be able to create backups, not only before a mandatory upgrade.

mysql8 is phpMyAdmin for my server and as I said in an other post I only have 'copy' not 'save as'.

Then use copy if that enables you to create a working backup. This is not the proper board for phpMyAdmin support. Learn how to use it by reading their docs.
If you're feeling adventurous, you could skip the db backup and perform the update right away.
