add thumbnail to video

I have 1.4.8

I try some tutorial and read anything I could find but no luck

How do you do this?

Yeah that's is what I read previoulsy.  I followed the instruction - though oviously I did something wrong.

Here is what I tried.

I upload via FTP a movie such as:  MVI_0217.AVI
and also: thumb_MVI_0217.JPG  as a file specific

went to batch add files.  The jpg with "thumb" in file name doesn't seen to recongize it in new files but I add the .avi file but no thumnail

I started over and tried uploading as MVI_0217.AVI and MVI_0217.JPG  went to add but they stay separate.  When you view the album you see two files: a picture and a movie with no thumbnail.  I even tried to batch add each file separately one at a time both ways the picture first then the movie, also the movie first then the picture.

Don't know what else to do.

Mind the capitalization of the extension. On Lunix, foo.BAR does not equal foo.bar.
