Impossible to move.
« on: July 12, 2006, 09:55:51 am »

I just moved my gallery to a new server, and finally got the database reinstalled.

I am now having issues trying to use all features as before, and I suspect it may have something to do with permissions...

I get: "Impossible to move." when trying to upload anything...what should I do?

Make sure that albums, albums/edit directories are chomoded to 777 i.e. writable. Also read the docs for permission instructions.

@bmossavari: this probably is not related. The FAQ section you refer to is only valid if the error message mentions php's temp folder. In 99% of all cases, this doesn't apply. You can't tell for sure in this case, as nnaerie failed to post the full error message. Especially if someone has moved his gallery or performed a fresh install, they usually forget to set permissions as suggested in the docs, hence the error message "impossible to move". As a "first suspect", you should tell people to set permissions as Abbas Ali did. Only if this doesn't help, you should tell them about the temp folder issue reported in the FAQ entry.

@nnaerie: for now, ignore bmossavari's suggestion and do as Abbas Ali told you. Only (and only then) if this fails, you should consider looking into bmossavari's suggestion.
