1. seems like an auto installer behaviour!(Fantastico) :)
2. download fresh copy from site (use the download link from above this page)
3.follow Upgrading documantation

you are using OLD language file (from your 1.3.X version)

All the config data is prepared from lang file. So it is important to have the lang file corresponding to the version you are using.

I just follwed the instructions from that linked to the letter, but it hasn't helped.

The config page still stop where i mention and i have noticed that in internet explorer, the gallery takes at least 20 seconds to load.

I use firefox normally, where load speeds are better, but the config page is still not loading fully.

Post a link. Is this actually a new install or an upgrade? your post is confusing. If it's an upgrade from 1.3 then make sure you are going to admin.php and not config.php.

It's an upgrade.
I originally attempted to upgrade via Fantastico and thats where the problem started.

I've now upgrade manually as per the instructions posted above and the problem remians.

I'd rather not post a direct link as I don't want it trawled by search engines - its supposed to be a private gallery.

Also, the problem isnt visible on the regular pages, only on the 'config' page.

Did that, thanks.
Changed to utf-8 via mysql though as the 'submit' but isnt available via the 'config' page!

Now its showing as far as 'Thumbnail view' ; 'Number of columns on thumbnail page'
(closer!  lol)

Ok, done.
A slight difference, but not much.

It would appear I am not alone and that it is quite probably our host causing the problems.

Post a link. Cloak it from search engines by putting spaces into the link, like this
Quote
www . mysite . tld / my coppermine folder

I've pm'd you the url and the user/ pass.

Note, that the visible errors dont seem to occur anywhere other than the 'config' page and the 'check versions' page - up till now anyway!

I didn't ask for a PM - I asked you to post publicly and just avoid search engine spiders by disguising the link from them. Not going to look into this - respect my wish for privacy in the future. I'm out of this thread.

[edit]fixed typo in above section[/edit]

With nearly 25000 posts he is indeed a friendly guy. I bet you won't spend even half an hour to help others for free...

You are not the only one who sent PM. He receives many PMs daily...Won't you get frustrated if you get so many personal messages (which are like personal emails) ?

He specifically told you how to post a link... You didn't followed the instructions and you are firing back at him? How rude is that...

Lastly if you would have taken a look at his signature, you would have realised your mistake.
